Strategy Template Files - import strategy templates as an add-on?

Hello!

We have many clients using some of our indicators and strategies and we are often creating strategy templates that are optimized etc... At the moment they install our indicators as an add-on which works great.. but obviously they get an error when trying to install (what should just be uncompressed/unzipped) template files.


I am wondering if there is a way in NT add-on XML/Zip file to include these strategy templates, or maybe even their own installation file but based on maybe some information in the manifest XML it would know that these are strategies and what folder they need to be placed in? Would be very helpful.

Hi Chad, thanks for posting.

After you export the package you can unzip it, add the proper folder path with your strategy templates, then re-zip the whole thing again and that will add the templates in the correct place when the client imports. See here for more details:

Instead of adding a templates\Chart directory, you would add templates\Strategy folder and add your strategy templates in there.
