Sim Risk Template Not Calculating Excess Margin From Intraday Margin

Hello,

On my Sim account, I receive trade errors with "Order can't be submitted: Not enough excess margin." However, I believe the risk template I'm using is not calculating my excess margin using the intraday margin values, because I should be well within limits when considering account balance and open P/L. Is there any way to enforce intraday margins as specified in the risk template? If I use a NT risk template with a live account, will I run into the same errors? Thanks.

Thanks for posting.

Risk templates cannot be applied to live accounts. Risk setting are defined on the brokerage side for a live account.

Concerning the error, I recommend also looking at your initial margin and maintenance margin settings for the risk template to make sure you are within the bounds of these. If the error persists, I'd recommend trying a different simulation account, or resetting the one currently in use. Resetting a simulation account will clear all historical trade data from this account. Please follow the instructions below to reset a simulation account:

• From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the Accounts tab
• Right click on your simulation account and select 'Edit Account'
• Press the "Reset" button
