Is it possible to download executions from a broker account?

Hello.

Say, I am using two NT instances: at home and in the office.
Can I sync live historical trades between these two NT instances and have full trading history with all account executions on both?

Thank you for the question.

Unfortunately, there is no way to sync the Historical Trade execution data in real-time between NinjaTrader on two different PCs.

The NinjaTrader platform saves and retrieves all of the Historical Trade Execution information from the Database file.

• This file is located within the Documents Folder > NinjaTrader 8 > db > NinjaTrader.sdf, this is the Database file that holds your trade information.
• You would need to send this file between your two PCs to keep adding to its historical trade information as you are unable to merge the Database file with another Database file to consolidate their information

As well, the platform does not support any kind of Network, Shared, or Cloud service as these are known to introduce unwanted behaviors within the NinjaTrader platform.

• The errors are normally generated because if another program is backing up or looking at a file that NinjaTrader needs, NinjaTrader is unable to see or use the file and it results in an error
  • This means you would not be able to put the Database file on a Shared drive that both computers have access to as a way to share the changes between the two platforms
  • If you wanted to utilize a cloud or shared drive between the two computers, DO NOT make the Documents folder the shared or cloud drive. Either create a New Folder or Drive and share that between the computers. Then use that folder/drive to copy and paste an updated version of the Database file when you are done so you have access to the most recent Database file on both computers.
