What is NT's preferred way of verifying stock data into the platform?

Hi there!

I've normally contacted support directly whenever I got a security to show on IB but not on NT. Sometimes there was a workaround with a '|' symbol and the name of the exchange, or an alternative way of looking up the stock.

But, what is NT's preferred way to troubleshoot a security that's getting a data feed on IB, but not on the NT platform?

For example, I'm trying to see data for SMLL and nothing is coming up in NT, but I can see the data in IB just fine. Same spelling of the security. Here's the product link via Yahoo Finance.

I feel like you are on the right track by using a | symbol. I used the following publicly available tools from the Interactive Brokers website to look up how they specifically map SMLL:

According to their mapping, this instrument is on the VALUE exchange. I changed my instrument settings in NinjaTrader to map it as SMLL|VALUE per the screenshot here:



Please test this on your end and let me know if you are able to load data for SMLL in the platform. I received some error messages related to historical data, however I am not sure if they are related to the test account I was using or not. I am curious to know if you receive the same messages or not.

Hi Emily!

I had to wait till the markets opened in the US, and that's when I realized I wasn't hooked up to the VALUE exchange to get the quote.
HOWEVER, I did try the above with a different security on ARCA (which I am subscribed to) and it worked just fine.
