    Current Market Price Line

    Dear Support,

I am using NT8 with ticks for the ES instrument, and I would like to have an indicator that can show the Current Market Price as la line that extends from the current last price back to the past for price analysis.

I know this can be easy achieved with an SMA by doing the following:

Select Simple Moving Average indicator (SMA) with the following settings:
    1) Set the period to 1
    2) Set the calculate mode to OnEachTick
    3) Change the SMA plotstyle from "Line" to "Horizontal Line".

This will produce a horizontal line at the current price that changes as price changes.

However, this comes to a problem when the current price is not on the "current view" of the chart due to the fact I have scrolled horizontally the chart reviewing past pricing. This causes the above procedure with the SMA shows only the last pricing currently visible on the chart.

Is the re any way to tie this indicator to exactly the very last price of the market and not the last currently visible price on the chart?

Thanks a lot for your help and I look forward to your comments.

    Regards,
    Elkin D.

    Hello elkingonzalez,

    Thank you for your post.

You would need to use a 3rd party add-on for this. Here is an indicator that draws a horizontal line at the current price. This is publicly available for free on our User App Share at the link below.

Here is a basic guideline of how to Import NinjaScripts.

To import NinjaScripts you will need the original .zip file.

    To Import
    1. Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.
    2. From the Control Center window select the menu tools> import> Import NinjaScript Addon
    3. Select the downloaded .zip file
    4. NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.
Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'

Once installed, you may add the indicator to a chart by:
    • Right-click your chart > Indicators > Select the Indicator from the list on the left > Add > OK
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
