2 Strategies Same Symbol

Say I have 2 strategies running at the same time with the same symbol and same account. 1 strategy enters long then the second strategy enters short that same symbol, what would happen?

• Strategy 2 closes the position from strategy 1 but does not enter short leaving it flat
• Strategy 2 closes the position from strategy 1 and enters a new short position
• NinjaTrader error pops up and nothing happens, Strategy 1 continues long

Strategies will maintain their virtual positions but when using one account there can only be one account position on the same instrument. The strategies would continue submitting real-time orders which can leave the strategy in an unsync'd condition (between the strategy position and the account position). Even though the account is flat and if a strategy is long, once it reaches its stop or profit target, it will issue a sell order and then the account will be 1 short but the strategy will be flat (virtually).
We recommend that you do not run two or more strategies on the same instrument and same account. You could consider adding a second/sub-account that would allow you to run the strategies independent of each other.
