    Error: No risk setting defined for instrument

    Hello,

    On playback I am getting an error message "No risk setting defined for instrument" ,when trying to place an order.
    I tried to resolve this by updating the risk template for your Sim101 account to "None" and even resetting it entirely.
    I also reset NT after that , but I still get this Error.

    This behavior has not been in the past, and I didn't make any changes to the settings.

    Hello Kobi,

    Can you please tell me what instrument you try to trade when you experience this error message.

    What NinjaTrader 8 version do you have installed? You can check this at Control Center-->Help-->About (8.0.xx.x).

    Try the following.
    • Go to Control Center-->Tools-->Risk.
    • Select the risk template you have selected for the Sim101 account on the left and then add the instrument in question by clicking add in the lower right corner.
    • Information to edit risk templates can be found at the link below.

    Once added, are you able submit orders successful to this instrument?

      1.
      Can you please tell me what instrument you try to trade when you experience this error message
      Basically it happens to all stocks. And the behavior started only yesterday. Before that I worked for months with no problems.
      Instruments from Nasdaq like : QQQ,FISV,CRWD,DDOG,ETSY,Z,WYNN ......

      2.
      What NinjaTrader 8 version do you have installed?
      I work with the latest version - 8.0.24.2

      Why does it matter which version I work with.
      This has not happened with previous versions and in the latest version it started for the first time yesterday.

      3. I work without risk template and I set the field of risk template to none

        Can you please shut down NinjaTrader and navigate to Documents-->NinjaTrader 8-->templats-->Risk and delete the risk templates. If you created custom risk templates, you can leave them.

        Start NinjaTrader and go to Control Center-->Tools-->Risk. Select the blank risk template on the left and click remove. Restart NinjaTrader and check if the issue persists.

              I closed NT , deleted all risk templates, restarted NT and getting same error on sim equity trades. Went to Accounts tab and a new Ninjatrader default risk template is being used for sim account . Viewed it and there is a random list of about 50 instruments mostly futures.

                Does the issue persist if you set the Risk option to 'None'?
