LIfetime License Key Issue

I purchased a lifetime license key several weeks ago and have been using the platform without issue including earlier today. I just loaded NT8 and my lifetime license key is gone and my key has reverted back to a sim key? I don't think I have my license key written down. Please advise.

Update, I was able to find my key and restore functionality. But why would that happen? A sim key spontaneously populated my license key....

Thank you for your note.

If a major PC update is installed, it can trigger a security mechanism in the platform due to the machine ID being changed and then personal information is wiped from the platform for privacy reasons.
