How to Add the previous day's OHLC as custom columns to the NT8 Market Analyzer?

How can I add the previous day's Open High Low and Close as columns to the Market Analyzer?

Is there a way to generate market Analyzer templates created in Google Sheets or Excel and then convert the templates to Ninjatrader 8? Maybe with a XML converter or something like that?
if not could you create a plugin or converter.

    Hello Cormick,

Indicator columns can be added to the Market Analyzer.

Right-click the Market Analyzer -> select Columns -> select Indicator -> click add -> on the right select PriorDayOHLC -> select the plot -> click OK.

I am not aware of any way to convert anything to a template in NinjaTrader.

      Hello Chelsea,

      Thanks for the answer.
I knew about adding installed indicators to the Market Analyzer.

      What I asked:

How to add the previous day's Open High Low and Close figures as columns (not indicators, just the basic OHLC of the prior day).

For example, if today is 4/19/2021,
How to add 4 columns in the Market Analyzer displaying:

      (Previous day = 4/18/2021)
Instruments Previous day's Open Previous day's High Previous day's Low Previous day's Close
      ES num1 num2 num3 num4
      CL num1 num2 num3 num4
      YM num1 num2 num3 num4
      NQ num1 num2 num3 num4
      etc. num1 num2 num3 num4

There are no presets in the Market Analyzer for Previous day's Open Previous day's High Previous day's Low, only for previous day's close.

      Templates like these:

So we don't have to reinvent the wheel.
Those templates are in XML format?

Why not create a Market Analyzer plugin for Google Sheets or Excel so to spare the effort of needing to code every time what sums up to simple tables building?
      With all possible functions.
Would save unnecessary coding time and efforts.
      Thanks.

I reread your message and found the PriorOHLC under the indicators (I assumed it would be under the available columns section not as a specific indicator). Thanks for the direction.

Is there a way to add a ratio column with custom formulas to the Market Analyzer?

For example if I would like to display the ratio between the current day open price and the prior day open price.

A column to get for example:

Instruments Previous day's Open Previous day's High Previous day's Low Previous day's Close CURRENT DAY OPEN CUSTOM RATIO
        ES num1 num2 num3 num4 num5 num5/num1

        Thanks.

          Hello Cormick,

NinjaTrader does not have a built in Ratio indicator. One would have to be custom created.

There is a NinjaTrader 7 Ratio indicator made by a community member. This could be a basis for logic when creating a NinjaTrader 8 indicator

Thanks for the NT7 indicator reference. It seems complicated and for limited use to replicate.

Why not upgrade the market analyzer to allow basic math functions to be performed as default?
Same as within Google Sheets and Excel, by simple cells referencing?
So as to make the Market Analyzer functional and not just displayable?

            For example:
            1 A B C D E F G
            2
            Instruments
Previous day's Open Previous day's High Previous day's Low Previous day's Close CURRENT DAY OPEN CUSTOM RATIO COLUMN
            3 ES NUM0 NUM1 NUM2 NUM3 NUM4 =B3/F3 (or any valid math formula refencing cells)
Why aren't the basic math functions built in?

Why use an external indicator per each basic math function that should be available across the board? Doing it the hard way?
It would be much more user friendly (simple cells referencing) and would only require replicating the table functions model.
It would be done once and for all instead of requiring countless tweaks by users for basic math custom formulas.

When will it be built in?

            Thanks.

                Hello Cormick,

This request is being tracked with ID# SFT-903.

Please note, we receive many requests and cannot reasonably implement all requested features or changes. Interest is tracked internally and if enough interest is tracked, it would be weighed against how feasible it would be to make those changes to consider implementing, so we cannot offer an ETA or promise of fulfillment.

When new features are implemented, they will be listed in the Release Notes page of the Help Guide. The ID number may be different than the internal feature request tracking ID, but the description of the feature will let you know if that feature has been implemented.

                      Hello Cormick,

                      Thank you for your reply.

Chelsea is out of the office today, but I'm happy to assist. The Prior Day OHLC requires intraday values to function - you're using a daily data series. If you use a 1 minute series, you'll see values there.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance to you.
