    Time frame Configure Button

    Hello NinjaTrader,

I've been using NinjaTrader for one year, I have great experience of using Ninja. I have made a short cut of 405 minutes in time frame box for easily changing time frame, and recently the 405 minutes short cut disappeared and the button of configure at the right bottom time frame box is gone neither. I feel annoying to change the time frame without short cut. Could you give me an advise what should I do? Cheers.

    Welcome to the forums kwokin!

Do you mean the configure button in my screenshot is missing from your platform? If it is missing, we may be looking at an installation issue, or an issue with an AddOn hiding this (very unlikely.)

We recently updated NinjaTrader to Release 24, so I recommend first updating, or running a repair operation on the installer if you are already up to date.

If the button is still missing, please start NinjaTrader in Safe Mode as a quick test to see if the matter is related to an AddOn. If the button appears in Safe Mode but does not appear in normal operation mode, I suggest setting up a clean environment, ensuring the button is there, and then to add components individually until the button disappears to identify which component creates the symptom.

    Testing in Safe Mode:
Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
    • Loading workspaces.
    • Connecting on start-up.
    • Loading custom assemblies.
    • Getting instrument updates from the server.
To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
    • Exit NinjaTrader.
    • Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
    • Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
    • You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.
    Clean Environment Test:
Creating a clean environment can be done by following the steps below:
    1. Close NinjaTrader 8, and rename the "NinjaTrader 8" folder in My Documents to something like: "NinjaTrader 8 OLD" Do not delete this folder.
    2. Uninstall NinjaTrader from the Windows Control Panel
    3. Delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 8 folder
    4. Reinstall using the installer from http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
    5. Add components individually and test to see which causes the symptom.
If you ever need to switch back to your original platform, you may do so by closing NinjaTrader and swapping the platform folder names.

For example, Close NinjaTrader and rename the new "NinjaTrader 8" folder to "NinjaTrader 8 NEW" and the "NinjaTrader 8 OLD" folder to "NinjaTrader 8." Then restart the platform. Simply put: NinjaTrader 8 will always load the "NinjaTrader 8" folder in My Documents.
    We look forward to assisting.
