    Playback window bug

    I have been using the playback feature for a couple of months now but today my playback button has vanished.

    What happened was I minimized the playback window which has the play button and dates to play back on it, and while it was minimized I closed the playback session and then started a new one.

    When the new playback session started the playback window which usually shows the two dates to play back and the play button now just appears as a small rectangle that says playback, and has the date of the last playback session but nothing else. I do not have the option to select dates or the play button in that window anymore.

    If I right click the playback window all options to minimize or restore are greyed out.

    I tried deleting the files in the workspaces folder. This did not work and I had the same issue.

    I tried uninstalling and reinstalling ninjatrader 8 but the issue is still there.

    How do I get the playback window back so that I can select the dates I want to back test?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for your post.

    The latest version of NinjaTrader 8 is 8.0.24.1. If you are not using this version. Please begin troubleshooting by updating NinjaTrader with the steps below. You can check your NinjaTrader version by going Help > About.

    To upgrade NinjaTrader 8, please follow the steps below.
    • First, copy your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key
    • Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
    • Enter your license key and press Submit
    • Select 'NinjaTrader 8'
    • Select 'Download'
    • Exit NinjaTrader
    • Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.

    If you continue to see this behavior. Please delete the UI.xml file to resolve with the steps below:
    • Close NinjaTrader
      • Close NinjaTrader from the Windows Task Manager:

        Press CTRL + ALT + DEL on your keyboard > Start Task Manager...

        Select the Processes tab

        Locate and highlight "NinjaTrader.exe" > Click "End Process"
    • Navigate to your UI.xml file in the following directory.
      • (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\UI or UI.xml
      • Right-click and delete the file

    Once complete, start NinjaTrader and connect to the playback connection again.

      Thank you so much.

      Updated the software to the latest build did not fix the issue but deleting the UI.xml file did.

      Really appreciate the quick response, great job.
