    Linked Chart Loses Drawing Objects

Issue for NT Support: Version: 8.0.23.2 64-bit

A chart that is linked to a Market Analyzer list of symbols will lose all user-created drawing objects when switching to a different symbol in the linked list.

In prior versions of NT8, any user-created drawing objects stayed with the linked chart that was selected in Market Analyzer, and appeared on the chart as last saved. I was able to rotate through an entire list of 10 symbols in Market Analyzer, and as each linked chart was populated any drawing objects I created for that symbol would also automatically reappear.

    Steps to reproduce this issue:
    1. Add 2 or more futures symbols to a Market Analyzer window -- e.g. ES 03-21, BTC 02-21, and CL 04-21.
    2. Create a new daily chart.
    3. Use the Instrument Link at the top of both the Market Analyzer and Chart windows to link the two windows.
    4. Choose one of the Market Analyzer symbols. When the chart finishes populating data and bars, add a few user-created drawing objects -- e.g. some text and a trendline or two.
    5. Switch to a different Market Analyzer symbol. Let the chart finish populating bars.
    6. Now return to the first symbol selected in Step #4 above. The drawing objects you added will have disappeared.
Please advise on whether NT Support can reproduce this issue, and any suggestions to resolve.

    Thank you.

    Hello D Trader,

We are aware of the issue and development is looking to fix it for the next version. The Visible property of the drawing object is not saved when switching instruments in the chart.

For now, please right click in the chart and select Drawing Tools-->Drawing Objects. Select the drawing object under Configured on the left. Enable the Visible setting on the right and click OK.
