Placing Sell LMT below current bid/ask

Hey Team,
Im sure this is a silly question but i wanted to double check as i am currently paper trading and i auto fill so cant confirm, if i place the Sell LMT/Buy LMT bar below the current ask/bid to close a position will it sell exactly as the price i give it or will it sell its way down as it gets filled? i know how i *THINK* it works i just want to be 100% sure

Thanks for the post.

A Buy Limit placed above current market price will fill immediately.

Likewise, a Sell Limit below current market price will fill immediately.

Limit orders will fill at the specified price or a 'better' price. For Buy Limit orders, this 'better' price is determined to be above the current market price, and for Sell Limit orders it is the opposite.
