Is there a tutorial or a thread that discusses how to set up email alerts from a strategy?

While there's not specific tutorial available for this, you can certainly send emails using a configured email share service from a script.

In NT8 you can configure Share Services which can be used to send emails. You'd need to follow the guides here to set up your sharing service:
