Woodies Pivots

Woodies pivots requires 3 fields:
- User defined high
- User defined low
- User defined open

Which values must I fill ?

Thanks for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

All of the Ninjatrader platform Pivots indicators all the pivots to be used 3 ways:

1) Use Daily Bars
2) Calculated from Intraday data
3) user defined values

The selections above are found in the row "Prior Day HLC".

The User-defined values are used only when you have selected to use them in the "Prior Day HLC". If that is selected then you would need to provide the High, Low and Open values to use as these are used to calculate the pivots in that case.

Typical use would be to select "Use daily bars" or "Calculated from Intraday data" as this will automatically provide the pivots based on the High, Low, (and in the case of the Woodies pivot, the Open).

The difference between Use daily bars and calculated from intraday data is that Daily bars use the ETH hours and using "Calculated from intraday data" would allow you to use other trading session hours, such as RTH. Also, depending on the data feed, Daily bars use the Settlement price as the bars close price.
