    Make Chart Elements/Indicators Unlickable

    Hi community,

I am simply looking for a way to make it so that when I click on an indicator on my chart nothing happens. Right now when I click on an indicator or a bar series, the element I clicked on is highlighted with the familiar black dots. This is really getting on my nerves because there isn't much space on my chart that is not clickable, and if I need to modify indicator or data series properties I can just use hotkeys or the toolbar, so I don't need to be able to click anything anyway.

Is there a way to do this? Thank you.

    Hello lunardiplomacy,

    Thank you for your note.

There would not currently be a way to lock all the chart elements so they're not selectable.

I have added a vote for you to a current feature request to have the ability to lock chart elements so they cannot be selected. This request is being tracked under the number SFT-4031.

As with all feature requests, interest is tracked before implementation is considered, so we cannot offer an ETA or promise of fulfillment. If implemented, it will be noted in the Release Notes page of the Help Guide.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance to you.

Thanks for getting back to me Kate, and thank you for adding my feature request.

That being said... any ideas on an unsupported workaround using ninjascript?

        Hello lunardiplomacy,

        Thank you for your reply.

There wouldn't be a way I'm aware of through NinjaScript to fully keep everything on the chart from being selected, but for indicators and bars you can turn off the ability to select those from right clicking on the chart > Properties > uncheck Allow the selection or drag/drop of chart series. That won't have any affect on drawing objects, however. You can lock those, but they'd still be selectable on the chart. You just wouldn't be able to drag them anywhere.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance to you.
