Back Test Historical and Live Data

I have complete historic data on stocks.

If I run the strategy analyzer while connected to TdAmeritrade I will get an error message if I try to test beyond 2 years (minute data) which is how far back their data goes.

Basically I have to disconnect from TdAmeritrade every time I want to run a back test longer than 2 years.

Is there a way to be able to use the analyzer without having to disconnect?

Hello sdauteuil, thanks for your post.

TDA connections are using their own historical data server (from TDA) and it does have historical data limitations. You can go to Tools>Options>Market Data and disable "Get Data From Server". This will prevent historical data loading from the data connection and force NinjaTrader to use the Historical data on your PC. Historical data can be downloaded through Tools>Historical Data> Load tab.
