Multiple Instances

Can I install multiple instances of NT8 on the same PC? If so how?

You'd only be able to use one instance of NinjaTrader 8 on a single computer- but should be able to use any desired functions across multiple instruments and accounts with hat single instance.

If you have a specific scenario where you'd want to have two instances of NinjaTrader open, I would suggest using both NinjaTrader 7 and 8 at the same time which is possible (though typically most data providers will only support one connection to an account at a time.)

I'm trying to connect NJ7 and NJ8 to the same IB Trader Workstation and it doesn't accept more than one instance at a time. Any idea on how I can solve this?

I contacted my broker directly, I found the people I talked to very supportive,
They suggest to check one thing with you: I copied here below some points of the conversation I had

"If NT support the clientID parameter, please do try it.

As long as the port for connection is matching between TWS and NT and clientID is unique for each NT clients, you should be able to connect.

If you can find the setting in NT configuration, that's great. Otherwise please check with NT direclty.

Please forward the information above, If NT doesn't support the ClientID parameter, unfortunately, you won't be able to connect both NT clients to TWS simultaneously"

Thank you for your post.

It looks as that is not possible with the current version of NinjaTrader 7 or NInjaTrader 8. I would suggest choosing a version of NinjaTrader to use and continuing to only use that version or using a second data connection for NinjaTrader 7.
