Automated Strategy Issues - Connection related

Hi,

I have an issue with testing and running trading strategies in NT8. I've been developing a system for a while now and now I'm in the forward testing stage. I have a VPS set up with one of most reliable service providers in the US. Throughout the week I'm having at least one sometimes two connection issues and I think if the connection is lost for more than 10 seconds NT8 shuts the strategy and I lose all week6's strategy results and the strategy stops working until I reset it as well (even if the connection is back green again). Is there a way around this, I'm curious how others are managing their strategies when a connection issue occurs.

Hello mntemel,

For this type of situation you could use Keep Running as the strategies connection loss mode, that would prevent it from restarting in case it sees a disconnect. You can also look at modifying the general connection loss detection settings to have it avoid registering that situation as a disconnect. A disconnect which exceeds the maximum number of reconnects will always disable a strategy so that would be a part of the overall handing in this situation.
