Session Close Time 4 pm EST but ExitOnSessionCloseSeconds takes 5 pm EST close time

Hi,

I noticed that the ExitOnSessionCloseSeconds takes 5 pm as close time (e.g. 30 sec -> 4:59:30 pm) and in (https://ninjatrader.com/Margins-Position-Management) the session close time is 4 pm. For instance, I had to set up ExitOnSessionCloseSeconds = 4560 to exit the strategy at 3:44:00 pm.

• Can somebody provide some clarification about it?
• With the margin requirements in place, can a strategy continue trading until 5 pm EST?

The ExitOnSessionCloseSeconds property works off of the session close as defined in the strategy's Trading Hours template being used. It specifies how many seconds before the end of the session to exit trades. To find the session template that an instrument is using, go to Tools > Instruments. You could check the End Time of the Trading Hours template for the instrument you are using by selecting Tools > Trading Hours in the Control Center. In the Trading Hours window, select the 'Template' on the left and you can see the End Times for that template on the right.

The Margins Position Management link (https://ninjatrader.com/Margins-Position-Management) is stating that the market session closes at 4:00 PM Central Time (CT). If your time zone is Eastern (EST), the market session would close at 5:00 PM EST
