Problems with Strategy Disconnecting Nightly at Interactive Brokers

    Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me with this version. I'm now getting IN RED Market Data Farm: disconnected and Historical Data Farm : disconnected. I believe I followed the connection guide and still have issues. It allows me to log in and also put in the MFA code but after this I see those 2 red boxes. In the Log there is an error: Received unknown error/warning: Sec-def data farm connection is broken:secdefil

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    NT Version = 8.0.23.2 64-bit

      I have the same problem since I just updated from 8.0.22.2 to 8.0.23.2 this week.

      before no problem at all. now when TWS briefly reconnects its link to IB data servers every night after midnight eastern time, NT8 seems to keep its connection but if you open any charts the data stream is not updating anymore after the TWS data servers reconnections.

      I have to manually disconnect and reconnect NT8 to TWS to resume the data streaming.

      This did not happen under NT8 8.0.22.2 but only after my update to 8.0.23.2 this week.


      I tested with TWS 9.73 , TWS 9.78 , TWS 9.79

      Edit :
      the TWS reconnections that trigger this problem is NOT the daily auto-restart of TWS for which we can specify the time of our choosing under TWS.

      It is the automatic reconnection of the links from TWS to the IB data servers that happens every night around midnight eastern time.

        is there a way to downgrade back to NT 8.0.22.2 to confirm that it solves this problem ? I still have the install file for 8.0.22.2 so I could reinstall it over 8.0.23.2 like it is done for an update.

            Having just started using IB with 8.0.23.2 and Gateway, I can niether auto-reconnect after the mandatory daily shutdown or the brief 1 minute disconnect that happens around midnight eastern (actually 5:30AM GMT for me). After the mandatory restart I just get a red light in NT even though the API re-connects, but no conection to market data until I manually disconnect and reconnect. Sometimes have to do it twice to get a green light and market data. For the midnight eastern disconnect, the light remains green in NT but no market data is ticking. Doesn't default to my FXCM data feed either because NT doesn't realise the data feed from IB has stopped.

            Currently have support ticket open for this and devs are apparently aware of the 00:30 eastern disconnect issue at least. The problems I'm having with the mandatory restart and reconnect, no luck yet.

                If you have a support ticket already and your issue has not yet been resolved, please continue troubleshooting within that ticket so that we are not working over the top of each other.

                      I can confirm that rolling back to NT 8.0.22.2 fixed the problem I described in post #18.

                      Data streaming on NT 8.0.22.2 is functioning as normal after the TWS reconnections to its IB data servers around midnight ET.

                      It is NOT the case with NT 8.0.23.2 and should be considered a bug to be fixed.

                        Please continue to provide diagnostic information and answer the questions that I had asked in our email exchange. We would not really consider rolling back to 8.0.22.2 as a viable solution, and we would like to continue to work on this issue with you.

                          I also confirm that the IB does not reconnect after the IB server reset on the newest NT8 version.

                              Unfortunately, everything I tried with the newest versions of IB Gateway & TWS failed including using the beta version provided by NT. I could never get past getting red errors for Market Data Farm and Historical Data Farm. For now, I downgraded back to IB Gateway 973.2h and all is working fine. I'll try again in 6 months or until we have enough users who have confirmed the latest IB software works.
