How Do I Build An Accurate Daily Chart After Labor Day?

Hello,

To build accurate daily charts for CME futures, I am using 1440 minute with "use instrument settings" for session length. How do I configure my charts to show Labor Day and the day after (today) to be one session? This is what the charting data at the CME reflects as there was no official settlement on Labor Day.

Hello vern13,

Charts load data as per the times of the trading hours template that is selected. If set to "Use instrument settings", it will use the trading hours template configured in the instrument settings. By default, it uses ETH (extended trading hours) templates.

When I test a 1440 Minute chart for the ES 09-20 using the default trading hours template, I load 1 price bar and not 2. Am I correct you load two price bars; one for yesterday and one for today?

Yes, I am still showing 2 bars. Running ninjatrader 7, looking at the NQ CME futures contract. On either "use instrument settings" or "CME US equities extended hours (ETH)" I am showing two 1440 minute bars.

Sorry, I assumed you were running NinjaTrader 8 as this section of the support forum is reserved for NinjaTrader 8. Please post future messages regarding NinjaTrader 7 in the appropriate section of the forum.

I can reproduce this behavior in NinjaTrader 7 as well. NinjaTrader 8 shows 1 price bar because trading hour templates include holidays such as Labor Day. Session templates in NinjaTrader 7 (equivalent of trading hour templates in NinjaTrader 8) can't include holidays. Unfortunately I do not see a workaround for NinjaTrader 7. I suggest to download and install NinjaTrader 8 so only 1 price bar is loaded. You can download and install NinjaTrader 8 from the link below.
