Charts and Stock Splits

Apple recently announced a 4:1 stock split effective today 8/31. On my ThinkorSwim platform it looks like all of the daily historical prices for AAPL were divided by 4 to adjust for the split.

On my Ninja platform, AAPL was trading around $500/share on Friday. Today, it looks like AAPL gapped down to around 127 for the open from 500. I called DTN to ask them about it and they told me to call Ninja. So how do I adjust the historical data to reflect the 4 for 1 stock split.

Hello dmking,

If you are connected to IQFeed or Kinetick (excluding the freely available Kinetick EOD connection), you can use their data to update Apple's split automatically.

If you are connecting through any other connection you may manually add the split to correct the historical data. To do this, please access the Instrument Manager and modify the AAPL instrument as shown below:


Once this split has been set, please right-click the chart and "Reload all Historical Data" to ensure the information has been fully reloaded. The chart should then reflect the adjustment correctly.
