Splitting a Large Order to Avoid Slippage

My broker uses NT to shuttle trade orders from TradeStation to another brokerage. They're having significant slippage placing larger orders for NQ. Does NT have a way to split up orders to send smaller order packets separated by a chosen number of milliseconds?

Unfortunately, this type of functionality is not available by default and would need to be custom coded into a NinjaScript strategy if such functionality is desired.

NinjaTrader is extensible in that you can create custom indicators using NinjaScript which is based on the modern C# programming language.

Will breaking up large orders into parts slow down NT? Does NT have limits / speed issues with hundreds of concurrent orders at a time?

Hello,

Every system will be different, so I can't guarantee performance standards, but the most important factor would be the quality of your connection to your broker from NinjaTrader. Any delay in reporting orders from your broker would likely be caused by a connection issue, as the platform will log trades to the database as quickly as it receives them.
