Level 2 Data From Interactive Brokers Not Showing in NT8

    Hi,

I've searched the forums and I'm not finding any solutions to this issue. I have NASDAQ Total View with Interactive Brokers, and I can see level 2 data everywhere in their Trader Workstation, but for some reason I cannot get level 2 data for those same stocks in NT8.

On my SuperDOM I'm only seeing one level, and in my Level ll window, I'm not seeing anything.

I spoke to Interactive Brokers and they stated that NT8 is not even querying the level 2 data.

Is there a bug with NT8?

Do I need to manually configure certain stocks?

    Hello mattage86,

    Thank you for your note.

Level 2 stock data would not be expected to be visible in the SuperDOM, but should appear in the Level 2 window.

Which instruments are you attempting to view level 2 data for?

Do you see any error messages in the 'Log' tab of your Control Center when you attempt to view this data? If so, please post the entire message.

I discovered that if you manually set the Instrument settings to have the NASDAQ exchange, it will show up in the Level 2 chart. Is there a way to change the default exchange to NASDAQ since all the stocks come in as being set to "default?" Or is there a way to have these smaller stocks get automatically configured properly?

Why are we not able to see stock level 2 data in the SuperDOM the same way that we see the futures data?

        Hello mattage86,

        Thank you for your response.

Which instruments (stock symbols) are you experiencing this behavior with? Are they custom instruments that you created? All instruments that are pre-configured within NinjaTrader will have the appropriate symbol mapping and exchange defined by default.

There are differences between Level 2 stock data and Level 2 futures data, and Level 2 stock data is not compatible with the SuperDOM window.

I believe these instruments are being created "on the fly" by NT when I enter them directly into the SuperDOM. Like "LAZ" for example. When these stocks get created on the fly, is there a way to change that default exchange setting?

            Hello mattage86,

            Thank you for your response.

            There is no supported way to designate a specific brokerage when creating stock symbols on the fly, but to save yourself some time, you could import a list of stock symbols. This will allow you to select an exchange and apply it to each of the symbols that are being imported. I have included a link to this section of our help guide below;

Is NT ever going to support stock level 2 depth in the SuperDOM?

                Hello mattage86,

                Thank you for your reply.

I have submitted this as a feature request to the Development Team. I will follow up with an internal tracking number for your reference as soon as it is created.

Thanks in advance for your patience.
