Changing location of Ninja Trader 8 db?

Hi, is it possible to change/move the location of NT8's db? Is the only option to move the "My Documents" folder physical location?

Unfortunately no, there is not an option to redirect this folder to another path at this time.

You can mount a new disk as a Directory which effectively puts it on a different drive.

Hi ATMtrader, thanks for the idea - I can move the Documents folder to another disk/location - is that what you mean by mount? I know how to mount in Linux, but not Windows... any hints?

Here's what I did.

1. Renamed the NinjaTrader 8 in My Documents to NT8.orig (The name does not matter)
2. Shutdown PC and added new drive
3. Started PC, logged in and open Disk Management
4. Selected new drive and Mounted it as a Directory called My Documents\NinjaTrader 8
5. Formatted the directory
6. Copied files from original directory in Step 1 to the My Documents\NinjaTrader 8 directory
7. Started NinjaTrader 8.

That will put All of Ninja Trader on a separate drive from the OS. You can get more specific and do just the db directory if that's what you want.

Only do this if you are comfortable doing this and ALWAYS have a backup of the data and a way to revert if things don't work as expected. Planning
is key.
