    Different Data Provider than Broker?

Can I use data from IQFeed and set my broker up to TD Ameritrade?

    #2
    Yes.

Connect to IQFeed first -- this is very important.

    Connect to TD Ameritrade second.

More info here, read the section at the bottom
where it says connection order is significant.

In NT8, the concept of 'connection order' is still
important, but multiple connections have additional
    management options.

Thanks for the reply, I have a multi broker license. I assume I can use IQFeed for all my data (I have Equities, Futures and Forex). Could I set up to use Forex.com for Forex and TDA for equities? What would the connection setup be then? Again, thanks for the help.

If you use Forex.com and TDA together, the
        connection order should not matter.

        Why?
Because these two data providers do not overlap
with the instrument types they support. You can
see that by studying this page.

Therefore, the equities feed will be pulled from TDA
and the Forex feed will be pulled from Forex.com,
        regardless of the connection order.

        Hmmm,
It looks like TDA does not support historical tick data,
but you can add that to the mix by using a 3rd provider,
such as IQFeed (per your original question).

If you use all 3 providers, Forex.com, TDA, and IQFeed,
I would connect to IQFeed last.

        Why is that?
Recall the order of the first two won't matter, but if IQFeed
is last, it can act as the 'back-stop' and pull the data for any
data type not supported by the first two.

Btw, is this for NT7 or NT8?
You're asking this in the NT7 forums, but Forex.com is only
        supported for NT8, see here.

Study the NT8 options for multiple connections. There are
new ways to designate which connection provides which
type of feed -- this can obviate the need for mastering the
        'connection order' conundrum.

            Hello,

            Thanks for your post.

Yes, this would be possible by setting the preferred connections for each connection on a per instrument basis. More information can be found below in our Help Guide article regarding this topic:
