US open time

hello

if I want to backtest in the analyzer a strategy only during market open from 830am until 4 pm central (when the US market is open) what should I pick from the drop down for es or nq in the chart type?

Hello babouin77,

You should be picking the instrument that you want to trade.

To trade between certain times code a time filter into the conditions.

well is there s setting in the drop down where we usually pick default 24/7 or 24/5 to trade only in open markets? see attached.

The Trading hours are templates that control what data is available to the chart (or to the Strategy Analyzer) in the Data Series section.

Is there one for just of the us market open to close from 830 am to 5 pm only? If yes what is it from this drop down list?

I'm not aware of a Trading hours template that goes from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern, but you can absolutely create one.

The US Equities RTH template is from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern that you could use as an example.
