Manually Trading Around your strategy

HI,

If my strategy is long 3 and in sync, Then I buy 3 at market using the chart trader. Then I set a a "Sell StopMarket 3" why does my whole position close? i.e. 6 contracts are sold and I'm flat. How can I stop this and essentially make trades around my strategy in the same direction?

If you would like to place manual orders and have it modify the strategy position so the strategy stays in sync with the account, you can add buttons to have the strategy submit those orders.

For limit orders and stop market orders, you could check for mouse button clicks and then have the strategy submit orders to the price level that has been clicked. A button could be used to control when the limit/stop market orders should be allowed when clicking on the chart. I have an example AddOn that can demonstrate in the form of an indicator, but I do not have a strategy variant. The same approach can be applied in a strategy and have strategy methods called for placing stop market and limit orders.
