Forcing gaps to show

On a 1 minute chart, when the primary instrument is thinly traded and does not have a value for a given bar, I noticed that NT does not show the time slot at all. Instead, that time slot is just removed from the chart instead of showing it with no candle. Is there any way to force all of the time slots to show so that you can draw in that space? It's also much easier to predict the time of each slot when you know all of them are there.

This functionality is not written into the standard time based bar types (second, minute, day, etc).

Are you wanting to custom code your own bar type?

Or are you asking to put in a feature request?

When rendering something on a 1 minute chart of an instrument that trades from 9:30am to 4:00PM, I would just like to be able to draw in any one minute slot of the session even if there were no trades there. The fact that no trades took place for a full minute is an important indication of it's own.

Hello swcooke,

Try unchecking Equidistant bar spacing to set this to false.
(Right-click the chart > select properties > uncheck Equidistant bar spacing > click OK)

Yes! Does my Indicator have permission to set that? I don't see a way to do it in the Help Guide.

Unfortunately, the property cannot be set from an indicator.

This must be set in the chart properties.
