Ransomware Threat in NinjaTrader 8
I have been experiencing problems with NT for a while, whereby the program starts up too slowly, and also shuts down too slowly. At times I also find windows that I was running, like Market Analyzer, have closed. Recently McAfee reported to me a threat that it quarantined. That threat was in the Ninjatrader program file. Today I received a similar report. The quarantined items are identified as NinjaTrader.exe MRG/Suspect.PLS!242f0e14c3e7 and Startup.Profile. I attach images of the quarantine records. How do I detect and plug the opening for this threat?Tags: None

Most likely a false positive from McAfee.
What is the exact version of Windows you are running?
What is the exact version of McAfee software you are running?
Have you tried uninstalling NT8 and re-downloading and re-installing?
After NT8 re-installation is finished, immediately run McAfee, do you get
the same threat report?
If so, you'll probably need to tell McAfee to ignore the NT8 files it is
complaining about, since you now have evidence McAfee is giving you
a false positive threat assessment on a freshly installed NT8 installation.

I have not uninstalled/reinstalled. I have some proprietary applications that I will need to consult with vendors about before reinstallation. Your suggestion makes sense, and I appreciate it.
