    Errors in compiling - Vendor.cs CS0102 CS0111

    I recently installed visual studio and it's halted my ability to compile now. Each compile attempt is throwing error related to NinjaTrader.Vendor.cs
    I deleted and restored NinjaTrader.Vendor.cs and NinjaTrader.Vendor.dll from a backup but these errors wont go. Attaching a screenshot.

    Any help would be dearly appreciated!

    Hello ashwania,

    First, run the repair from the ninjatrader installer and try compiling again.


    Then, please provide a screenshot of the references window. (Right-click within the editor > select References, stretch the window so we can see all or most of the references.)

      Thanks Chelsea, I backed up custom folder and went ahead with an uninstall and fresh install. That took care of the problem.

        Hi,

        I have been removing and reinstalling ninjatrader all day, and im still getting the same problem
        > It has the errors right after install, so cant install any 3rd party indicators

        >I have tried repairing, i have been restarting the computer in-between installs.

        I have tried installing the current and prior versions. Same error.


        What else can i try?

          Hello yertle ​,

          Thank you for reaching out.

          That message indicates that there is a duplicate file in your Documents -> NinjaTrader 8 -> bin -> Custom folder

          Please note that unless you delete/rename the NT8 folder before re-installing, the platform will use the same folder, and in turn the same errors will appear.

          I recommend this procedure to only isolate this folder:

          1. Close NT8

          2. Go to your PC -> Documents -> NinjaTrader 8 -> bin

          3. Select the "bin" folder and right click and select "Rename. (Rename). You may need to select "show more options" first.​

          4. Rename this folder to "OLDbin".

          5. Repair the platform so that it creates a new folder.

          To repair:
          • Go to your computer's Control Panel > Programs and Features (Note: look for 'Control Panel' to find it within the Windows Start Menu. This will be a different window than the Settings page.)
          • Left-click once on NinjaTrader 8 > select 'Repair' above the list of available programs
          • Restart the platform after it finishes repairing, and test this behavior again.

          6. Start NT8 and you should now be able to go to Tools -> Import and import any custom indicators you have available.

          Please let us know the results of this test, and if you have any other questions.

            Thank you Erick, It is working now.

            I'm not sure exactly what it was, but it worked after doing the repair sequence & uninstalling a 3rd party app on the desktop (that was related to an indicator Trial)
