Bars.BarsSinceNewTradingDay technical info?

Hi All,

I was very frustrated while trying to use Bars.BarsSinceNewTradingDay. I did not see in the Help guide where it says you must have checked the Data Series "Break at EOD". I figured it out after a couple of hours. Stupid me; I am a newbie at this. It would be great to add this to the Guide. Alternatively could Bars.BarsSinceNewTradingDay simply use the trading hours template and reset not requiring "Break at EOD" being set?

Thanks for your post.

Break at EOD determines if a tick based bar would break and start forming a new bar when the Trading Hours templates EOD gets reached.

Bars.BarsSinceNewTradingDay will follow the Trading Hours template.

I have a provided a video demonstration printing out Bars.BarsSinceNewTradingDay to flush this out.

Hi Jim,

Thank you for your response. My trouble was that Bars.BarsSinceNewTradingDay returned "0" with Break at EOD unchecked. Your response and the videos do not really make this clear to me. Or maybe it is not suppose to return "0" when Break at EOD unchecked. It would be nice if the guide stated the requirement. Either way I have it figured out for now.
