Strategy Optimizer

I've read through the docs on the Strategy Optimizer and and wonder how to add my custom set of strategy parameters to the strategy.

For instance, I'd like to be able to optimize the length supplied to a moving average relative to price to see which works best with the particular strategy.

Please advise.

Thanks for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

To optimize a parameter you would need to create it as a user input to the strategy.

You can certainly create an input for the moving average period that you can then run in the optimizer.

In your Ninjatrader is an example of a strategy that uses two moving averages and it has two inputs for the periods of the moving averages. The strategy is called SampleMACrossover that you can test as well as review the code of.
