    Timing question

    Hi, I’m curious how this series of occurrences would translate:

    Calculate = on bar close

    Say I enter when XYZ happens.

    It’s 1pm and at 1:01pm XYZ happens.

    If my data series is 60 minutes, will I enter at 2pm or will it skip the order because XYZ didn’t happen at “bar close” of 1pm?

    Alternatively say

    It’s 1pm and at 1:01pm XYZ happens. And then at 1:59pm the condition is not valid

    If my data series is 60 minutes, will I enter at 2pm or will it skip the order because XYZ didn’t happen at “bar close” of 1pm?

    Alternatively say

    It’s 1pm and at 1:01pm XYZ happens. And it’s 1:59pm and condition stays valid

    If my data series is 60 minutes, will I enter at 2pm or will it skip the order because XYZ didn’t happen at “bar close” of 1pm?

    Hello calhawk01,

    Thanks for your post.

    Using Calculate.OnBarClose, the conditions XYZ would not be known/evaluated in the 60-minute bar until the bar closes which is when the script would run, once. If the XYZ conditions place an order the order would be placed on the next bar.
