I'm told it's best to use the same data provider for both backtesting and live trading. If I'm using my NT Brokerage account to trade live and connected to my IQFeed. Is IQFeed the actual live data my strategy is using to enter trades or is it Continuum?

IQFeed is a data feed only and does not handle any order routing. You can use IQFeed data for real-time and historical data and so this is what your strategy would be using to enter orders, however, the order routing would still be handled by Continuum.
