    Hello Graci117,

    Thanks for your notes.

Since TradeDevils is a third-party developer we would not know how exactly they programmed their third-party NinjaScript AddOn. If the code of the script is different that the code NinjaTrader_ChrisL shared then the BarsType will behave differently.

That said, when testing the script NinjaTrader_ChrisL shared it is working as expected as noted in post # 30.

Please let me know if you would like me to add your vote to the existing feature request for adding an ATR Renko BarsType natively to NinjaTrader.

I love the possibilities of this ATR Renko style. The visualization is great. However, there is no option for Tick Replay, and the bars do not have high or low wicks. This is proving to be a problem for backtesting and strategy development. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on how to enable tick replay for this bar type or have the wicks register so that backtesting can be done with this bar type. Thank you.

        Hello zrobfrank,

        Thanks for your notes.

Renko bars by default do not have upper and lower wicks on the bars.

Each bar is known as a "brick," and is plotted as green by default when price is moving up and red by default when price is moving down.

This is noted on the help guide page linked below.

        Understanding Renko Bars: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...ndingRenkoBars

The standard Renko bars that come with NinjaTrader are also not able to use TickReplay similar to the RenkoATR custom BarsType script.

If you want the bars to have upper and lower wicks and have the ability to use TickReplay, you could modify the custom BarsType script to suit your overall goals.

Further, please seen this help guide page for information about backtesting Renko bars: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...ime_vs_bac.htm

From the help guide: "Renko bars can be challenging for backtesting as the barstypes use functionality to remove the last bar in the data series and replace the bar with a new Open price. This is done with reversals and cannot be simulated historically, because the bars are already built. Testing may be done with the Playback Connection to fully simulate standard Renko bars with accurate reversals and order fills."

What are the values you are seeing and what are the values you are expecting?

When testing the custom BarsType script on my end I am seeing the script is behaving as expected when uncommenting the Prints in the custom BarsType script and comparing the Output to the chart minute chart with an ATR indicator applied.

          See the attached screenshot.

Another vote here for SFT-854, please... except it's actually MORE than one, since I represent an entire community elsewhere that would massively appreciate this feature being implemented as per the original request from Matty89.

I think the point Graci117 was making is that the code kindly provided by ChrisL simply fails to offer the kind of configuration illustrated, thus...
