Alerts trigger for bar close above/below

While the latest Alert setup is full of all kinds of nice ways to get alerts, one that is missing on the trigger side is , On Bar Close Above/Below some reference, for me numeric, but for any of the crossover setups, it would be very nice to know if we closed and not just crossed that point.

Thanks for your message.

Creating these conditions is possible. Since Alerts calculate every 250ms with incoming tick data and check the developing bar when we use Bars Ago 0 references, we would want to setup conditions that check the previous bar instead of Bars Ago 0.

For example, we can set up conditions like the attached screenshot, and then have the alert set to Re Arm on bar closes.

When the next tick comes in which opens the bar, and the next time NinjaTrader checks Alert conditions, the Alert that checks the previous bar will trigger and this will model the alert firing on bar closes.
