setting # of contracts in Chart Trader

Chart Trading: is there a way to set the number of contracts when you use the context menu and choose e.g. Buy Limit

It is not possible to set the quantity from the right-click menu. The quantity displayed in the right-click menu is the quantity that is selected in Chart Trader's 'Order qty' field at the time of the right-click.

I'll submit a feature request to be able to adjust the quantity from the right-click menu. I'll edit this post when I receive a tracking number. EDIT - the tracking number is SFT-3372.

being able to edit it after it has been placed on the chart and/or maybe by using a toggle key when clicking it from the context menu to ask for the # of contracts would be great

To modify the size of an order:

Left mouse click on the area of the order label that displays the order quantity. An order size modification control will appear. Modify the quantity in the quantity field by using either the up/down arrows, the mouse scroll wheel, or by typing the desired quantity. When done, click the check mark to accept the modification, or press the X to cancel the modification.

what does the 's' mean after you modify it.. e.g. 3s

This indicates that there is more than one order stacked at the same price level. After modification, you'll notice if you go to the Orders tab of the Control Center that there are actually 2 (or however many additional times you modified the order) orders.

It's not possible to actually modify an order (this would require cancellation and re-submission), so NinjaTrader just submits a new order on top of the original order to increase the quantity.
