The difference between FIFO and LIFO here would be how the average entry price changes. Here is the expected behavior:
    • FIFO disabled:
      • 1 Entry at 100. Average entry price = 100
      • 1 entry at 110. Average entry price = 105
      • 1 Exit. Average entry price = 105 (no average entry price change)
    • FIFO enabled
      • 1 Entry at 100. Average entry price = 100
      • 1 Entry at 110. Average entry price = 105
      • 1 Exit. Average entry price = 110 (the second entry price)
There is no way to really visualize the separate entry prices as individual trades because the Sim101 engine (and any broker) will stack your positions together in some way when trading to a single instrument and account.

What may interest you is 'virtual' position display using ATM strategies with a 'Strategy selection mode' of 'Display Selected ATM Strategy Only". Here is a link with more information:

I'll just suggest that if you don't have a broker yet, contact a couple of your broker prospects to see how live account orders are handled, including asking about the Average Price System, then operate your Demo/Sim account that way. No sense practicing differently than it will be live.

    Hi Lancer

I am operating a DEMO account and the data provider is Rithmic.

I don't know if that helps you know if you handle LIFO or FIFO orders?

    regards

persoguillermo, does your broker handle live account orders that way? (last order first to close (LIFO), not average price system)

    Hi Patrick

When FIFO is deactivated the average order price does not move as I close positions.

But when I close the first position, it corresponds to the first position I opened and NOT to the last one, I explain?

Therefore it continues to behave like FIFO

I want my last order to be the first to close. How do I configure that?

    regards

LIFO would be in use when "Use FIFO for position average price calculations" is disabled.

For a live account, the position averaging will be controlled by your broker.

You can adjust for FIFO or LIFO for simulation accounts by adjusting the "Use FIFO for position average price calculations" in the Tools > Options > Trading settings window.

    Do not average orders

    Hi

I want to know if NT8 has any function to NOT average the orders, but leave them at the price they were opened

For example, I sell 1 contract for $ 20, the price goes up and I sell 1 contract again for $ 30 (without closing the first trade)
NT will average both positions at $ 25, is there a way to NOT do that ????

That is, that each position is at $ 20 and $ 30 respectively

    regards
