    Alerts not triggering when conditions are met

    just set up three alerts - none of which are functioning....

    1st picture - alerts window
    2nd picture - alert log window
    3rd picture - chart with alerts attached - upper pointer to 2.2 stdv bollinger band (skyblue solidline) and lower pointer to 2.8 stdv bollinger band (skyblue dots)

    forgot to add apict of the actual condition - 4th pict

    5th pict - more recent alert log - still no alerts from NQ598Vol chart

    i'm guessing i should uninstall then re-install NT8 ?

    I've moved this post into its own thread as this is no longer the same symptoms are your original post.

    Do these alerts function as you expect if you use the 'cross above/below' operator instead of 'greater/less equal'?

    Instead of waiting for the real-time market to make the conditions true for your alert, I would recommend testing while connected to the simulated data feed. To use this feed, disconnect from all connections then connect to the 'Simulated data feed'.

    Once using this connection, you'll notice that a 'trend slider' pops up on your screen. You can use this slider to trend the market up/down to cause alert conditions to become true.

      VWAP is 3rd party and worked before 8.14.2 install
      bollinger is yours and also worked before 8.14.2

        just noticed i had my bollinger allert set to current bar
        it should be price/close less or equal 1 bar ago
        but there are three bars that actually close below the indicator anyway

        also forgot to mention i uninstalled 8.14.2 and went to 13.1 where my old workspace from 06/25 alerts worked

        then in uninstalled 13.1 and re-installed 14.2 and the same workspace's alerts worked 06/25 but no others... including this fresh workspace built from chart templates

        very very odd to say the least...

          Can you clarify which alerts are no longer working? I am investigating further in the behavior Bruce is reporting where alert configurations are erased with no pop-up message or direct action.

          Is this the same symptom that is occurring on your end? Which one of these describes your issue:
          • The alerts have the same general, conditions and actions settings but no longer function
          • The alerts are present in name only but have their general, conditions and actions changed or removed

          If neither of those are accurate, could you elaborate further?


            no function --- at all -- removed them - having major data lag problems now that are seemingly unresolvable on the same machine -- uninstalled NT8 and reinstalled it and still the same --- this was not happening Friday... something has been

              You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

              Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

              Please list 'ATTN: Patrick H' in the subject line and reference this thread in the body of the email.

                Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your email to platformsuppot[at]ninjatrader[dot]com with 'ATTN: Patrick H' in the subject line and a reference to this thread in the body of the email so I may investigate this matter further.
                • Open your NinjaTrader folder under My Documents.
                • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
                • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to your email.
                • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

                  To follow up on the alerts side of this matter you will need to change the 'If All' option on your alert to 'If Any'. Attached is an image to detail this further.
