Is it possible to upload actual trades into Ninjatrader 8 and run an optimization on the results?

It is not possible to upload trades into NinjaTrader 8.
It is possible to write a NinjaScript Strategy that places orders at specific times and at specific prices and backtest this over historical data.
NinjaScript Strategies can be optimized.
