NT8. How often should I restart?

Having a lot of problems with NT8 starting up...it can take 5 minutes for all charts to load and respond without crashing. NT7 loads right away. Anyway, once NT8 is responding, can I leave it open for the entire week and just reload historical data from time to time as needed? Thanks.

Thanks for writing in.

As far as leaving NinjaTrader open for multiple days is concerned, this can cause problems if your PC goes into sleep mode while NinjaTrader is running. I recommend disabling sleep mode if you plan on doing this. It's also a good idea to close and reopen the platform from time to time to prevent your log and trace files from becoming too large.

Concerning the slow loading of the platform, please send me your log and trace files so that I may look into what occurred.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

Is Tick Replay enabled on some charts? That will greatly increase start up times.
