Playback Window Frozen? Takes a long time to come to life.

Hi there,

What might be the cause of a Playback window that very slow to come to life, or not at all? How long should I be waiting?

When I initiate a Playback connection, I get a successful connection, but the Playback control window itself takes a long time to activate. Previously, I would need to wait 10-60 minutes. Well, I just restarted NT8 and created a new Playback connection. No exaggeration, I let this go overnight when I went to bed, and in the morning, the Playback control window is still not active. This is at least a 7 hour wait. I'm hesitant to kill NT8 and restart, because that could mean starting this massive wait all over again. Furthermore, when I look at my control panel, I can see NT8 is consuming the bulk of my CPU, so the process is still active.

You can see in my image, the connection is active, but the Playback window is not. What might be causing this, and how can I resolve it?

Hi timmbbo, thanks for your note.

There should never be a 7+ hour wait for this to load. You might have a very large collection of data to run through. Consider moving the data you have now out of the Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\replay to somewhere else on the hard drive for storage. Test the playback connection after this is done to see if performance improves.
