Suggestion: Quick alerts

It is great that NT now has alerts.

I like to recommend a quick alert mode.

So on a chart, right mouse on any price and select quick alert. It automatically populates that price and one can use active span (e.g. day, week, etc) and that's all. The standard NT8 alert is great but it takes time to setup, and at least for me, 80% of the time, I need such quick alert.

What exactly would the alert be alerting you about? If the price action goes above/below the price you right-clicked on? If not, could you elaborate further?

When you manually configure the alert you'd like to be the 'quick alert', are you using a horizontal line? Else?

Hi Patrick,

Yes, it is alerting crosses of the price selected using mouse (horizontal). Guess it could become fancier using trendlines, etc. but I would think most people would need a quick way to do this based on (horizontal) price. I day trade and need speed of setting such alerts up. I don't know what the majority need, but this is my use case.

Thanks for the clarification. I've submitted this as a feature request to the Development Team. I'll edit this post when I have a tracking number. EDIT - the tracking number is SFT-3325.

Thank you, Patrick. PriceAlertNT8 indicator that you referred works great. Of course a built in feature would have nicer gui, but this one would work just fine in the meantime

On 2nd look, that indicator only works for a single instrument. The need for alerts really manifests itself when one is looking at multiple instruments.

I will eagerly wait for quick alerts if team agrees to implement and prioritize them.
