Default chart setting

I set up a chart just the way I want it. I save the chart as default. I also click the "preset" in the data series and click save. Yet with every new chart I have to reset the candlestick type and time. How can I make the candle type and time default for new charts?

Just to clarify, when you say you 'save the chart as default', does this mean after a chart is created, you right-click on the chart > Templates > Save as Default...?

Also, the purpose of the 'preset' is to save properties of the data series for a certain bar type. For example, if you were to change the preset while the range bar type is selected to value = 10 and Chart style = hollow candlestick, this would appear the next time the range bar type was selected by default.

right mouse on chart, template, save on default did not work. But in data series, change the type, save the preset.....that works...Now new charts are correct. Thanks!
