The line in your log "2019-10-22 15:44:05:809|1|4|Chart Trader close position" indicates a manual input that NinjaTrader received. I could not speculate as to how or why it occurred - I can only say that if this print exists in your log then NinjaTrader received that manual input.

If the close button flattens a position that the automated strategy created, then it would also disable the strategy.

This request for help concerns just one of the malfunctions
which I would be only too glad to solve.
Each morning for instance 2 or 3 charts have lost their
templates - failing to restore the three ninja indicators
they contain.
There is clearly something interfering with the functioning
of ninjatrader. One of your colleagues is currently
demonstrating enormous patience as we try and design tests
to try and identify the problem.

Without more context it would be difficult to answer accurately, but I suspect the manual CLOSE button use may be contributing here.

Not so.
1. The close button closes a trade not the strategy.
2. I was not at the keyboard when this termination happened.

By chance, the log has just given chapter and verse of an
odd happening.

Normally Sharkindicators' Raven strategy remains open after
it closes a trade but something here disabled it.

NinjaTrader does not recommend any particular virus protection software, however, I encourage other users to provide any relevant information they may have.

More importantly than the specific software would be to ensure NinjaTrader can pass through those softwares without interference. It sounds like you may have already done this, but here are the critical locations and files to exclude:

  • Documents > NinjaTrader 8
  • Documents > NinjaTrader 8 Backup
  • C > Program Files (x86) > NinjaTrader 8
• Files/executables
  • C > Program Files (x86) > NinjaTrader 8 > bin > NinjaTrader.exe
  • C > Program Files (x86) > NinjaTrader 8 > bin64 > NinjaTrader.exe

Also, if you could provide anymore detail on the "anomalous behaviour" you're describing, I may be able to provide further insight or advice on how to avoid that behavior.

Can anyone recommend an antivirus compatible with Nt8 ?
Ninja here is exhibiting anomalous behaviour but in what
appears to be random fashion.
I've done a test or two with and without my antivirus but
nothing enables me to incriminate it decisively.
I've set the antivirus to allow NT 8 activity of course.
