Bitmex has only created an add-on for NinjaTrader 8. You can review Bitmex's documentation on NinjaTrader integration in the publicly available link below:

Does the bitmex integration still require data to be set as record chart data as historical?

If you click on the link in post #2 then click on the link Bitmex provides to their "NinjaTrader-BitMEX Installation Guide", you'll see that the following information:

Historical quotes

To plot historical tick data from BitMEX, select New > Chart from the top menu. In the window that appears, type your symbol and hit enter.

Data can be viewed in 1 minute or 1 day bins. To select bin size, go to the properties pane, go to the Data Series section and choose Minute or Day in the Type dropdown.

So, BitMEX provides some historical data. Enabling 'record chart data as historical' would only be required if BitMEX isn't providing the historical data you want, but does provide the real-time data. Here is a link with more information about this property:
