Slope of a Line.. On Screen Calculation...

    Hello,

Slope is calculated as a ratio of "rise" to "run", or as a fraction ("rise over "run) in which "run" is the horizontal distance and "rise" is the vertical distance. Percent Grade = (Rise/Run)*100...
Normally the units of measure are normally the same for both the X and Y axis. But as far as solving for the slope of a line in the charts used for trading as such as the charts we use in Ninjatrader. Slope is only a measure of how much a line increases or decreases in over a given range.. Therefore... Slope = Yaxis (ticks)/ Xaxis (bars) or (mins)
    Is this correct..?

    Hello Michael,

    Thank you for your note.

Yes, this would use number of bars and amount of price change.

There is a Slope() method you may be interested in.
