[IB] OCO orders entered as separate orders

With Interactive Brokers as backend. When I enter an OCO order in NT8 to buy stop + buy limit in order to cover an existing short position, with OCO enabled. What I see in TWS is two separate orders, and not an OCO complex order.

I can enter the same order in TWS as OCO just fine.

    Hello vorlon31,

This would be how OCO works in NinjaTrader. Two or more orders that are submitted using the same OCO ID. For any order types specific to Interactive Brokers these would not be supported with NinjaTrader.

I do not understand. I entered these orders in NinjaTrader as OCO, but they do not arrive at IB as OCO. It's supposed to be OCO, but it's not.

I am unsure how Interactive Brokers order submission functions, but NinjaTrader does not 'combine' two separate orders into one order during submission.

I would like to make sure we're on the same page though. Please clarify the following statement:

In this scenario, are you submitting an order without OCO enabled which fills (order #1) then submitting a protective order with OCO enabled (order #2)? Or, are you submitting an order without OCO enabled which fills (order #1) then submitting a protective stop AND target order with OCO enabled (orders #2 and #3)? If the latter, then this is all expected as Chelsea mentioned. If I have misunderstood your description of the order entry, please elaborate further.

If you submit two orders with OCO enabled, they are in fact two separate orders. We could verify that these two separate orders have the same OCO ID if I had access to your log files. However, I would not recommend attaching them here. You can look in the Orders tab of your Control Center to verify that your orders are being submitted with OCO. Here is a screenshot example of what you should see when OCO orders are submitted as OCO:

If we verify that NinjaTrader is working as expected, please contact Interactive Brokers regarding your OCO orders to ensure they're working as expected on their end.
